Living Lund

'Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away'

Lund - the Heart of Skåne

Lund is located in the South of Sweden, close to the city of Malmö and less than 10 kilometers from the sandy shore of the Öresund Strait. The Öresundbridge leads you directly to the capital of Denmark - Copenhagen. The South of Sweden is therefore special for its short distance to bigger Swedish cities, as well as to a complete different country, thus, Denmark. Lund has approximately 80.000 inhabitants out of which at least half are counted to be students. Thus, Lund is a real student’s town.

Actually Malmö is the central location of Skåne, but we consider Lund as the place to be in the South of Sweden, because it is a beautiful student’s town with a lot of possibilities to fashion your free time. Especially in spring and summer Lund becomes a famous city for tourists and of course for students, because it is not only the oldest city in Sweden, but as well the city with the largest and most popular university. The centre of Lund is very historical and creates a beautiful picture in ones head when looking at the different buildings. The possibly most central building in Lund is the Domkyrka - the Cathedral, known and famous for its big astronomic clock inside the main hall.

The University of Lund was established in 1666 and is spread throughout the whole city of Lund. As a student you feel all the time as if you were currently walking on the campus, because all faculties and departments can be found in every second street or even the smallest corner of Lund.

We collected a few pictures for you, so you can get a first impression of how Lund looks like.
